Guides

Guide for students

My studies is on your school’s timetable site, in the same place as exam registration and electives. These are the things students do there most, one at a time. Your school decides which parts are switched on, so a section may be missing for you.

  • Signed in once per phone or computer
  • A code by e-mail instead of a signature
  • You decide what a parent or sponsor sees

The guide as a PDF

A short guide with pictures: students’ guide (PDF), also in Slovenian and Croatian. After graduation, the alumni guide (PDF) describes your alumni page.

  1. Open My studies

On your school’s timetable site, the address followed by /a/study.

  2. Say who you are

Type your enrolment number. A six-digit code goes to your student e-mail; type it in. Where your school signs in with Microsoft, use the Microsoft button and your school account instead.

  3. Stay signed in

This phone or computer stays signed in, and the same sign-in opens exam registration, electives and attendance. You do it once per device.

Enrol online

  1. Open the enrolment form

When the student office opens your enrolment for the next year, Enrolment form appears on the first page.

  2. Go through the steps

Personal data, Addresses and contact, Previous education and employment, Study programme, Electives where your year has them, and Review and hand in. Last year’s data is filled in; you can stop at any step and continue later.

  3. Confirm with a code

Press Send me the code, type the six digits from your e-mail and press Hand in the enrolment form — no printing, no signature.

  4. Wait for the office

The office checks the form and enrols you, or asks you something on the form; then you correct it and hand it in again.

Register for exams

Exam registration is part of the timetable, with the same sign-in as My studies.

  1. Open Exam registration

From My studies under Elsewhere, or on the timetable site. My exams lists your courses with their published dates.

  2. Register

Press Register beside the date. Each date says until when you can register; where registration is closed for you, the page says why and whom to ask.

  3. Withdraw if you change your mind

Press Withdraw before the deadline the page gives.

Pay an invoice by QR code

  1. Open Invoices and payments

On the first page of My studies: what is open and what is overdue, and the payments received.

  2. Scan the code

Under Pay with the payment code, scan the QR code in your bank’s app: the amount, the account and the reference fill themselves in.

  3. Or copy the reference

Paying by hand, copy the reference exactly — it is how the payment is matched to the invoice. Invoice (PDF) gives the paper.

Hand in a request

  1. Start a new request

In Requests, press New request and choose what you are asking for. Each kind says who decides it, how long it usually takes and whether there is a fee.

  2. Fill it in and attach

Fill in the fields; attach documents with Choose a file or Take a photo, then Upload.

  3. Hand in

Until the office picks it up you can still change it; Save draft keeps it for later, unseen by the office.

  4. Answer the office, read the decision

If the office asks for more, the request waits for you with their note: add what they ask and press Send again. The decision comes back here as a PDF with a number and a verification code.

See your progress and change your data

  1. Progress

Your curriculum year by year: each subject passed, registered for an exam, or still open, with your credits and your two averages.

  2. Documents

Under Enrolment and documents, download your certificates of enrolment and other documents as PDF.

  3. My personal data

Each field says whether you change it yourself, the office approves the change, or only the office changes it. Press Change, fill in the new value and Save — or Send to the student office. Your changes lists what became of each.

Choose who sees your data

  1. Open Who sees my data

It lists your parents, payers and sponsors. Once you are of age you decide, person by person and part by part — timetable, exams, grades and progress, attendance, announcements, invoices.

  2. Invite someone

Write their name and e-mail address and say who they are: a parent or a family member, somebody who pays your fees, or a sponsor. They see nothing until you share it.

  3. Switch each part on or off

A change takes effect at once. A payer always sees the invoices addressed to it, and nothing else unless you share it.

  4. See who looked

Who looked lists what each person looked at, in the last 12 months. Remove from my list ends a person’s access at once.

Keep your emergency contacts current

  1. Open My emergency contacts

In My studies, also linked from My student file.

  2. Add a contact

The name, who it is to you, the phone and the order to call. Save — or, if the page asks (that is your own number, for example), correct it or Save anyway.

  3. Change or remove

Change or Remove on a contact. Where the school keeps the contacts itself, the page says so and leads to Requests.

Questions from students

The code did not arrive.

Look in the spam folder of your student e-mail, then ask for a new code. A code is valid for a few minutes only.

I am under age. Can I choose who sees my data?

Below the age of majority the school decides what your guardians see, and Who sees my data lists it. When you come of age, the choice becomes yours.

Where is my thesis?

Under My thesis: its steps from the topic to graduation, what is next and whose move it is. You send your topic and hand in the thesis file there.
