Changing a timetable that is already live
The timetable you publish in September is not the timetable you run in March. What matters is how much work each change costs you — and how many people find out too late.
Changes without an IT ticket
Rooms, lecturers, programmes and individual sessions can be modified directly by administration staff. There is no deployment, no database script, and no waiting for a technical team — which is the point of what we describe as an IT-less system.
Every change propagates transparently across the whole timetable. Move a lecturer and every session they teach updates; change a room's capacity and any session that no longer fits is flagged immediately.

Everyone affected is told, automatically
The expensive part of a mid-term change is rarely the change itself. It is the communication: emailing the group, updating the noticeboard, and dealing with the students who turn up to the wrong room anyway.
Wise Timetable notifies lecturers by email and students through push notifications in the mobile apps as soon as a change is published. Web pages, signage displays and calendar feeds update from the same source, so there is no version of the timetable left showing the old information.
Moving to a new academic year
Transitioning between academic years is a routine operation rather than a project. The system supports an unlimited number of internal published timetables, so most institutions run one for the current year, one for the upcoming year during the transition period, and one for internal verification.
Last year's structure carries forward as the starting point, which means the annual cycle begins from something rather than from nothing.
