Wise Timetable mobile app — privacy policy
This policy covers the Wise Timetable mobile application for Android and iOS, published by Wise Technologies Ltd. It is separate from the privacy policy for this website and the Wise Timetable platform, because the app collects far less than either.
Last updated: 11 August 2026.
The short version
The app does not ask who you are. There is no account, no registration, no sign-in and no password. We do not know your name, your e-mail address or your student number, because the app never asks for any of them and has nowhere to put them.
What stays on your phone
Everything you choose is stored on the device itself and nowhere else:
- The school code you entered, and the school it resolved to
- The groups or the lecturer whose timetable you follow
- Your interface language, theme and display preferences
- A local copy of the timetable, so it still opens without a connection
Removing the app removes all of it. Change school in Settings clears it without removing the app.
What leaves your phone
The app asks your institution’s own Wise Timetable server for a timetable. Each request carries the school code and the identifiers of the groups, lecturer, room or subject being displayed — and nothing about the person holding the phone. Timetable data is what a school already publishes on its own website.
Requests are made over HTTPS.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app subscribes to topics through Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging — one topic per group or lecturer you follow, plus one for school-wide notices. A topic is not a person: nobody keeps a register of which device follows what, and neither we nor your school can send a message to one identified individual through it.
Firebase assigns each installation of the app a technical identifier so that Google can deliver those messages. That identifier is generated by Google, is not linked to any account, and is not used by us for analytics, profiling or advertising. Deleting the app ends it. Google’s handling of it is covered by the Firebase privacy documentation.
Notification content is written by your school — a room change, a cancelled session, a message to your group. We do not read it, store it or send anything of our own.
No advertising, no tracking
There is no advertising in the app and no advertising SDK. The app does not request the Android advertising ID; the permission is explicitly removed from the build, because the app is used by pupils under 18. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK that carries personal data, no location access, no contacts access, no camera access and no microphone access.
Children and young people
Secondary-school pupils use this app, so it is declared for an audience of 13 and over. It is designed so that a young user is never asked for personal information: there is nothing to sign up for, no profile, no messaging between users and no user-generated content of any kind.
Your school is the data controller
The timetable belongs to your institution and is served from its own Wise Timetable installation. For anything concerning that data — who appears in it, how long it is kept, or a correction — the controller is your school or university, and its own privacy notice applies. Wise Technologies acts as its processor under a written agreement.
Your rights
Because the app holds no personal data about you on our side, there is no account for us to export or delete. Everything the app knows is on your device and is removed with it. Rights concerning the timetable data itself are exercised with your institution.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version is published here with a new date, and the app store listing links to this same address.
